Common Uses
Parlodel bromocriptin
is a dopamine agonist used to treat menstrual and infertility disorders, and to treat Parkinson’s disease. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Before Using
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Parlodel bromocriptin
. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF Parlodel (Bromocriptine) IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of high blood pressure. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using Parlodel (Bromocriptine).
Directions
Follow the directions for using Parlodel bromocriptin
provided by your doctor. TAKE Parlodel (Bromocriptine) with food or milk. STORE Parlodel (Bromocriptine) at room temperature below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF Parlodel (Bromocriptine), take it as soon as possible. If it is within 4 hours of your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Cautions
Parlodel (Bromocriptine) MAY CAUSE drowsiness or dizziness. If dizziness occurs, sit up or stand slowly. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Parlodel (Bromocriptine). IF YOU DEVELOP A SEVERE, CONTINUING HEADACHE or changes in vision, check with your doctor. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines which contain pseudoephedrine. For patients taking Parlodel bromocriptin
to treat conditions other than fertility disorders: If you are taking birth control pills you must use an additional form of contraception while taking Parlodel (Bromocriptine). If you have questions, check with your doctor. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Parlodel (Bromocriptine) during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF Parlodel (Bromocriptine) IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking Parlodel (Bromocriptine).
