Photography 101
Photography is a remarkable trade. Sometimes it’s simplicity makes shooting an absolute pleasure, however at times it’s complexity can confound even a seasoned pro. I’ve realized that good photography reaches far beyond the exposure triangle.
As much as Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO are all vitaly important, and have their place. Real quality photography surpasses these basic elements. Real photography is about light and the use thereof. It is about creating a specific mood or evoking emotion in yourself and your audience. As much as the exposure triangle and light are essential and of the upmost importance, the real skill is communication. You can have a perfect exposure with brilliant light, and still fail miserably in creating an impeccable image.
You must be able to draw something fresh and real out of your subjects on a consistent basis. That is what will make your images soar to the next level. So next time you think photography is as simple as pressing a button, stop and think again. Happy Shooting!!
